Quotes

"The paintings of Richard Krogstad reflect his close, personal connection to the Midwest landscape. He seeks to make the ordinary elements of the landscape— fields, trees, rivers, skies—extraordinary through the careful use of color and value, lending his landscapes a spiritual demeanor."

— Rusty Freeman, VP of Curatorial Education, Plains Art Museum, Fargo North Dakota

"Krogstad is a poet of rural places, the wide skies arching over fallow fields, river valleys and farmsteads."

—Mary Abbe, art critic, Minneapolis StarTribune

"What makes Krogstad's work stand out is his use of color and light to produce a subtle glow throughout, as though these houses and grasses have visible souls."

—Sarah Henning, entertainment editor, The Forum
